The Crap is Getting Pretty Deep In Here . . .

Chris Brogan and Julien Smith have merged into one super marketing monster

The last time I suggested two business titans came from the same place, I had my tongue planted firmly in my cheek. Today, let’s go literal: Chris Brogan and Julien Smith have merged into one guy.

That’s Chrisjulien Brogansmith at the top of this post. Mr. Brogan and Mr. Smith came together almost too easily, and their latest book, The Impact Equation, like the earlier Trust Agents, is a similarly mashed-together set of ideas that simplify some none-too-simple stuff.

PayPal for Banking, e-Commerce, Merchant Accounts? WHY?

Braintree for E-Commerce; It's not PayPal

If you’re buried in minutiae, welcome to the business world. If you’re looking to change your business or change the way you do business, one of the best things you can do is cut out that minutiae.

Facebook Stores are Shutting Down—Were They Ever Open?

Bought anything on Facebook lately?

Last week I came across this story at Mashable, talking about the demise of several major brands’ e-commerce efforts on Facebook. And my immediate reaction was that I hadn’t even realized these “Facebook Stores” existed.

My next thought went to what my reaction has been since we started seeing established brands with established web sites running television commercials trying to send people to their Facebook pages. Can anyone really believe that it’s a good idea to send traffic to facebook.com/pepsi instead of pepsi.com?

Huge Business Change: Merchant Accounts Are (Almost) Free!

As our clients know, we prefer payments for services at Answer Guy Central via electronic means. And we offer lower rates for our clients when they agree to follow a no-collections-or-billing-necessary business process we’ve set up through PayPal. It’s at least partially due to this that when PayPal discontinued their Money Market Fund a few weeks ago I pointed out that there are other choices for moving money around but that we’d probably be staying put.

Business process pays huge dividends, but because establishing and setting up a business process can be difficult, it can be painful to change one.
